9 X 12 - Housekeeping
Xanthe:
I won't be reviewing this episode because I won't be watching it! If anyone else wants to discuss it then the thread is here.
Ttime42:
It was okay. Just okay. Actually, I feel like most of the episodes of late have just been okay.
I'm not a Tiva fan...so the last three minutes were unpleasant to watch. Why they keep forcing these two together baffles me. I just don't see anything resembling genuine affection between them.
Plotwise, this ep had a season finale vibe to it, what with the arrest of Stratton, (who is very creepy) and the safe house explosion. Since this storyline seems wrapped up (unless Stratton escapes?) I'm curious about what the finale will entail. I feel bad for Tony. The poor guy needs a steady, normal girl that he doesn't need to lie to, who doesn't put him down, and who won't leave him for dead in an alley. (I'll happily volunteer! hehe)
I don't have a good feeling about this new SecNav. Him and Vance rub me the wrong way.
Did anyone see the preview for next week? Without being spoiler-y, I'll just say I'm curious about what Ziva will tell him.
Haggy:
Disappointing. The episode was a bit of a damp squid as far as I was concerned. The only little spark was when Gibbs asked Tony what he was thinking and even at that I felt Gibbs should have pushed him harder for answers when he obviously knew his agent was keeping something to himself.
As for the whole Ziva/Tony thing? It was pityful.
Xanthe:
Yeah - I know some people are raving about S9 but honestly I only see marginal improvement - I loved Newborn King and some of the early season eps but since The Penelope Papers onwards it's more often missed than hit and the big, much touted two parter, Engaged was incredibly lame.
I really feel done with NCIS. I'll watch the 200th ep but that's it. I'm going to stop watching. I find it so hard to engage with it or care any more after what it's done to its premise and some much loved characters.
georgiesmith:
The Gibbs/Tony scenes were great. A lot of emotional intensity. Completely negated by the vomit-inducing Tiva crap, of course.
This is terrible of me, but whenever I saw Ziva on screen I just kept thinking "You look fat."
I'm probably done with the series as well. I'm pissed off and sad in equal measure.
