Episode Discussions Here!

I'm loving Person of Interest. Apart from Suits it's my favourite new show.

And while it DOES have a slash pairing, I'm not sure many people will want to go there *g*. But let's see! Go check out the video Georgie found on Raspberry World:

I love this show! I'm so looking forward to it coming back this week.

And the slash solidified for me when Reese was telling Finch to stay away from the parking garage and Finch's response was to slam down the accelerator to get there quicker.

Great video!

Yes! Totally! I think they make a very interesting and quirky slash pairing!

While I don't actively slash them, if anyone could convince me it'd be xanthe.  ;)

I loved the last new episode. They'd been slowly building towards something throughout the first half of the season and left us on a nicely built cliffhanger to not only tide us over the holiday break, but anxious for the new episodes to start up again. I just love the fact that the writers and producers have put so much thought into every aspect of the show - writing, editing, fight choreography, casting, characters, story progression. Nothing is haphazardly done in this show.

Gosh, it's nice to finally talk about it as well. It's not got a huge fan base because neither of the leads are pretty boys (though I do find both of them attractive men in their own ways) and it's not a show that lends itself to fan fiction easily because the show itself is so densely written that PWP stories just don't work. What I hope that means is that even though there will be less fan fic for the show, the quality will be higher.

Again, glad you enjoyed the video as much as I did. There aren't a lot of PoI fanvids out there, but this one was just nicely done and will hopefully draw a few more people into the show.

LOL! I'm not actively slashing them either, but I love the idea of them calling each other Mr Reese and Mr Finch in bed.

And I had this idea for a crack fic set in the BDSM universe featuring lots of different couples, including Rizzoli with Isles on a leash *g*. And everyone at the party was casting scared glances at Reese and Finch trying to figure out what the HELL their dynamic is! Although I suspect Reese is the sub in that relationship - a very difficult sub to master though! But Finch does it by kindness in the end I suspect...

I was thinking that Reese would be a switch - which would fit right in with the "difficult sub to master' thing because it has to be for the right person, someone he trusts implicitly and I can't imagine him giving his trust easily. I could see him doing so for Mr. Finch... maybe. Definitely crack fic territory though!

Yes - they could both be switches in essence. But I'm wondering if Reese was a sub broken by his previous experiences - he gave his trust and it was so comprehensively broken that he can never easily sub again. And Finch can't trust either - he's been broken too but in a different way - so they're like two wounded animals. Ooh - it's interesting territory even if I never want to write a story about it!

I am really liking this show too. I started watching it because i really like Jim Caviezel, and found that I liked it very much. They are both so damaged and trying to do the right thing, but without the corny heart of gold cardboard character turn around.

Tonight's episode?!

Holy smoke!

Bird references! (Finch, Wren...)
Solid red boxes! (Reese, Fusco)

The pained look on John's face when he introduced Lionel as a "friend."
Lionel being shot in the ass.  (Do you think John will send Lionel his cushion to sit on?)

Wow. Stellar episode. I mean, ANOTHER stellar episode.

It was great! Not keen on the boy but I LOVED the reference to Reese being a samurai betrayed by his master because it's what we talked about before - that Reese is a sub who was broken by a bad master and now he's wandering around all damaged *g*.

And yes - loved Finch's other name - Wren. That appears not to be his real name either - maybe it's Robin or something *g*.

I did wonder if Harold had paid someone to impersonate that woman that his godson goes to visit - but that didn't seem to be the case, or if it was we never saw it. But he's had aliases since COLLEGE? Just what did he have to hide THAT FAR BACK?!! Ooh, I love they both have these dark, mysterious pasts!!!

And Reese is gonna have to lend Fusco the special pillow for sitting on *ggg*.

Yes - that's totally it, Jacci. I actually think they are damaged beyond redemption - I don't think there CAN be any happy ever after for either of them and I think they have both accepted and are fine with that and i LIKE that about them.

Aliases since college made me think of the movie Sneakers (Robert Redford, Ben Kingsley), where they played two college buddies that were into government incription and hacking, and one got caught (Ben kingsley) and one didn't (Robert Redford), and that one went on to a level of paranoia that you only get when you're that clever. So, yeah, I can see Finch having paranoia that far back.  There are a lot of birds names, tho, Finch, Wren, Sparrow, Starling, Pigeon, California Least Tern, Least Bell's Vireo...

I don't know that redemption is really for either of them.  They're both doing their redeeming now, although no one knows.  The only character that has redemption coming to him is Lionel.  Sure, he's a dirty cop and the "butt" of everyone's jokes, but still sexless redemption nonetheless.  ;)

There's a reason we don't call our chits in early - consumer confidence.  This isn't Wall Street.  This is Hell! We have a little something called Integrity.

Lionel being shot in the ass cracked me up big time. I loved it. He acts like such the reluctant helper and then he dives for a kid and gets shot in the ass. It's poetic really.

And this is a comment on the several previous episodes. I haven't really been a fan of Carter and I didn't think they'd get much mileage out of her chasing Reese around. And then they brought her in and I thought, "Oh the show is going to hell now" but I must say I'm quite pleasantly surprised with the way it's worked out. Carter is much more interesting as a character now that she's somewhat on the inside.

I still love this show to pieces and look forward to every episode.
