To podfic or not to podfic, that is the question.

Am curious to see what other people think about podfics. The notion of an audiobook never really appealed to me but I was interested to see how a podfic of one of Xanthe's stories would go. Spent enough time uplaoding them figured i should at least check one out. Listened to Coming Home, and found that I didn't enjoy it as much as when i read it and had resolved after the first few parts to stop.

In the end i listened all the way through and have since revised my initial feelings quite a bit. Listening now to HiPS and finding that i am totally enjoying it (not as much as reading it for myself) but much more than i thought i would have. Also because i am so busy with work and have this awful slave driver running me into the ground on another project  ;D , i have little time for reading and so the podfic has become quite the treasure. I listen to them in the car driving in between classes and find myself eagerly looking forward to it. I also find that i am noticing things that i didn't before (although that may be from familiarity rather than the different medium)

Wondering what other people's experiences are with podfics, do you like them, never tried them?? Love them??
