Laurence is just so despicable!!! With his fussy manners and calculated cruelty!!! I love it though that Mulder has had some minor little victories, that Laurence hasn't had it all his way and that some of Mulder's responses have caught him out! And yes i know i shoudln't be reading this now, but you don't really want me to be one of those silent masses that never leaves you any feedback, do you??? *smiles angelically*

LOL! Oh you are a bad girl! *THWAP* And remember, I created Laurence in all his cruelty and warped sensibilities - I GOT INTO HIS HEAD. I therefore know how to torture people too *g*.

Oh man, I consider this a classic, but haven't read it in years. It's just as excellent as I remember! I'm loving all the complex psychological forces at work here.

I've been so absorbed in your other stories I forgot to leave a review for this one!
Your characters are very intelligent and complex. I'm particularly impressed by your original character, who is vivid and layered. Even without a television series to flesh him out, his history and life journey are just as clear as Mulder's. And obviously, you are very bold and imaginative in your erotic work which is an absolute pleasure to read, whether or not what you're writing is "dark".
I think piece this really showcases your commitment as a storyteller. There was nothing but commitment from beginning to end, both from you as a writer and from your characters. I had no idea how I expected the story to conclude, and was completely satisfied with the ending. You followed through. Thank you!

An old favorite that goes beyond what you expect. Characterization is very well done here. A study of courage, an exploration of evil I think.
I know I loved it. I applauded Mulder's bravery and loathed his adversary beyond words.
Do read if you are not faint of heart. I know I still rant and rave every time I look at it again.

This is one of my favourite stories of all times. I don't know how many times I have read it, and it never gets old. It is so perfect! Laurence is so evil but i love his flaw and his doubts, it woudl have been so easy to write him as a one-dimensional evil baddie.
Poor Mulder, so damaged and so defiant, such perfect characterisation. I just love the battle of wills between them.
Absolutley incredible, and masterfully written.
