Vidding Notes: I've wanted to
do this video for about ten years. I was a total fan of Blake's 7, which
is a UK Sci-fi programme that aired in the late seventies. The show was
extremely slashy, with a central relationship between Blake and Avon that
fascinated this young slasher while still a teenager <g>. In the final
scene Avon is reunited with Blake after a couple of years apart. Thinking
(erroneously) that Blake has betrayed him, Avon kills his old friend and
sparring partner -
and seconds later the entire crew are shot down by Federation troops. I
always wanted to do something with that final scene and I felt this song
went perfectly with the nihilistic feeling of it. I didn't make many cuts
- the scene is so powerful that I wanted to keep it as intact as possible,
but I tried to cut into the beats where I could whilst still retaining the
flow of the scene. The changes of voice on the song can be read as changes
of Point of View, although I think the song can be read as Avon speaking
to Blake, Blake speaking to Avon, the crew making their comment, or the
fannish wails of despair when we saw what had
happened to the characters we'd come to love! I think it works on all
those levels though - at least I hope so!

I've been living to see you.
Dying to see you, but it shouldn't be like this.
This was unexpected,
What do I do now?
Could we start again please?
Could we start again?I've been very hopeful, so far.
Now for the first time,
I think we're going wrong.
Hurry up and tell me,
This is just a dream.
Oh could we start again please?
Could we start again?
I think you've made your point now.
You've even gone a bit too far to get the message home.
Before it gets too frightening,
We ought to call a halt,
So could we start again please?
Could we start again?
Could we start again?
Could we start again?
Could we start again?
