The episode was just okay. I feel like they were trying to pack an emotional punch, but for me it just wasn’t working. Maybe the problem is on my end. I used to like the show a lot more. I used to get really excited for Tuesday nights. But now, I’m starting to venture into ‘meh’ territory. Like others, I too cannot forget what happened at the end of season 6. How on earth can they still expect us to believe that Tiva could ever happen or be healthy for either Tony or Ziva after showing us Ziva pressing a gun against Tony’s chest? I don’t know. Anyway…
The chaplain character was an interesting addition, but Mr. Flores was just annoying for some reason. They totally MISUSED the point of flashbacks! Flashbacks ( to me anyway) are supposed to reveal things that we don’t know or that are integral to the character. Seeing that Gibbs was friends with a Marine who died? Not worth the flashback. This only reminded audiences that, yes, there have been lots of deaths of loved ones and friends in his life. And seriously, what was the point of the Tony-in-the-room-of-kids scene? If that had any relevant meaning to the plot, I missed it. It’s like they just had to fill in time. I like this show, I really do, it’s just little things like this that irritate me.
On a different note…those emoticons are HILARIOUS! Only on a xanthe website, right?
