I’m very fond of Marine!Gibbs and normally I love those kinds of flashbacks, but I agree that these ones really didn’t contribute anything meaningful to the plot. And it was a waste to put Gibbs is combat gear and not have Tony there with him to admire the look!
But what really annoyed me about the episode was that they were very mean, teasing us that way… for the first half of the episode or so, it totally could have been Ziva in that transfer case. And then it wasn’t. >:(
