Notes: This story is how I’d like The X Files to end!!!! It was written especially for the Thank You Mitch site which was asking for PG rated story subscriptions in honour of the final episode of The X Files and Mitch Pileggi’s final few performances as Assistant Director Skinner. I wanted to write a story on the theme of goodbye, to tie up some of those X Files loose ends, and to also create an utterly Skinnercentric tale. Really the central theme of this story probably lends itself to a huge, long novel, but I wanted to keep it short so I haven’t developed it that way, although hopefully you get the gist of it – and you can fill in the rest with your imaginations!
