🐊 Sharing The Squee💧
- I hope you’ll share in all the excitement as I release the books over the next few months. When I used to post my long fanfiction stories, I’d split them up and post about 30k words a day over a week on Livejournal, and we had SUCH fun with that as people used to stay up to refresh the page and be the first to comment, and they’d all chat on each other’s posts about what they were enjoying about the story.Writing and reading can be quite solitary, but there’s so much joy to be had in connecting over stories. I therefore hope you’ll join with me in all the fun and excitement as I release this book series. By now, you all know my very long journey to get here, and the many ups and downs I experienced along the way. This book series was my own personal Everest to climb, and I want to enjoy every single minute of finally being able to share it with you.So please feel free to reply to any of my emails to talk about the books. And to join my Facebook reader group Xanthology to chat to others about them. Everyone is welcome, and I encourage a positive, friendly atmosphere.

💡Spotlight On …
Ghost Eye
Book Two in the Dark Water series, Ghost Eye, is due out on July 1st. If you’ve read the Crocodile Tears ebook, you’ll already have seen the full Ghost Eye graphic, but it’s so pretty it deserves its moment to shine, so I’m going to do a full cover reveal.
You know the routine! The obscured graphic is below – and the full reveal will be in a Special Edition newsletter next Tuesday. I can assure you it’s every bit as pretty as the Dark Water series graphic and the Crocodile Tears graphic. The latter focused on Alex, while Ghost Eye features Josiah.

🎧 Xanthe’s Audio Recs
This one’s a bit cheeky, but I’m going to rec the Crocodile Tears audiobook because it really is terrific. I wouldn’t normally rec my own books (!) but I really want to rec the performance by Matt Addis, the narrator. He’s a master of characterisation, and I love how he brought to life even the most minor characters. It goes without saying that I love his Josiah and Alex, but his Winston is a revelation and his George Tyler is just brilliant. Spot on!
He’s also a really lovely person. We’ve had a few chats about characterisation, pronunciation etc during this process, and he’s great fun and a true professional. I think he’s one of the best voice artists I’ve ever heard narrating an audiobook – and that’s fantastic because there’s a huge cast of characters over the four books, and he makes each and every one distinctive and special.
